Welcome to Classic Car of the Year 2011 in association with Lancaster Insurance.The editors of Classic Cars, Practical Classics and Classic Car Weekly have been through hundreds of entries and have chosen the 20 cars which they felt epitomised the British classic car scene and the many fantastic endeavours that go into getting and keeping classics on the road and the classic car loving public have spent four weeks voting for their favourites.
The five finalists will be on the Classic Car of the Year stand at the Classic Motor Show at Birmingham’s NEC 11th - 13th November 2011.

The prizesWhat will the winner get if their car is on the podium?
As well as a one-off trophy, the overall winner will receive a years free comprehensive cover from Lancaster Insurance (up to the value of £300), plus a host of other prizes – last years winner walked away with around £3,500-worth of gear.
The other four finalists will receive a years free comprehensive car insurance from Lancaster Insurance (up to the value of £300) and a one-off trophy and all 20 shortlisted cars will receive a commemorative certificate.

Take the perfect photoWe show you how...
For shots that stand out, get quite low to the ground, or really high up on a step ladder or similar. If the sun is out, make sure it is behind you, not in front of you, but don’t cast a shadow on the car. Front three-quarter is best. Make sure there’s no background clutter. Empty car parks are great.
